Hello, my name is Gabe, and our subject is pollution, today I am here to tell you about the many problems we have with it today.
My great uncle told me a story about when he was a child, you could see all the way to the bottom of the river, there were no fish kills and you didn’t hear about spills of contaminants. You just didn’t hear about pollution in the past. Now pollution is a serious problem within our society.
Pollution is the cause of many health problems within heavily polluted industrial cities to small cities with only a few industrial complexes.
Pollution can affect our health greatly. A few long term affects that come with pollution include chronic respiratory disease, lung cancer, and heart disease. Pollution can also damage vital organs such as our brains, kidneys, and our livers. These effects from pollution can grow and grow the longer we are exposed to the pollution in the air.
Pollution not only affects us humans, but the whole entire planet. When fuels such as carbon dioxide are emitted into the air, it slowly depletes our ozone layer. This depletion can cause a something called global warming. Global warming is the unnatural “warming” of the Earth. Vehicular pollution it one of the biggest contributing factors to pollution.Vehicles are responsible for fifty percent of smog and seventy five percent of carbon monoxide emissions. If we don’t do something immediately about our pollution output it will have drastic results on our environment, The biggest example of the adverse effects of our pollution is that one in six animals will be extinct by two thousand one hundred.
After hearing our presentation we hope you will consider the effects of our daily actions.
