Hello, my name is Aaron and I will be sharing the interview portion of our project with you. Our task of finding two individuals to interview to gather information on the growing concern for pollution, was not an easy task. At first, we limited ourselves to just workers from the Weyerhaeuser plant, but then we realized that contacting these employees may be harder than we had expected. My dad, Ronald Davis, is a superintendent for Trader construction and he travels down to Potashcorp (PCS) regularly. He, along with all of the other employees at PCS, has environmental training. He is a level one inspector and holds a certificate for a level two site manager for stormwater and erosion control for the NCDOT projects. Our second individual, Kenny Webster Sr., is a contract manager. He oversees numerous projects, working with different contract companies doing work inside of PCS. They both have over 20 years experience in their profession.
We learned that PCS is mandated by the EPA, the US Army Corps of Engineers, NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and many more federal and state organizations. Any discharges, whether it be from the stack of a plant, or water runoff, is monitored and have safeguards in place to eliminate and minimize an impact of the environment. All industrial facilities in North Carolina, follow these same guidelines. PCS, along with all industrial facilities, use methods to prevent the pollution of the environment when they discharge their waste products. We are thankful that these two men took time out of their day and gave us some very useful information.
I will now turn it over to Isaac Kirkman at this time, who will be sharing solutions with you, thank you.
